The Lowry is a busy visitor attraction, and we have a number of procedures in place to ensure the safety and security of our visitors, staff and artists.
Following the tragic events at Manchester Arena in 2017, an independent review produced the The Kerslake Report which makes a series of recommendations. Alongside other lobbying campaigns, this ultimately led to new legislation, called Martyn’s Law.
Due to become a law in Spring 2023, Martyn’s Law will ensure venues are prepared, ready to respond and know what to do in the event of an attack. It will also ensure venues have better protection through enhanced security systems, staff training and clearer processes.
The Evolv security system at The Lowry is one of the measures we have introduced in response to Martyn’s Law, ensuring we provide a safe and secure venue.
