Public transport
The Lowry is served well by metrolink services and buses.
The nearest tram stops include Media City UK, and Harbour city on the Eccles line. The new line heading to the Trafford centre stops at the Imperial war museum, and is a 5 minute walk across the bridge over the Quays. For more information on the tram network, stops, and train times, please click here : https://tfgm.com/public-transport/tram
There are also a number of buses running just past the theatre. You can plan your route here : https://tfgm.com/plan-a-journey
Taxi
There is a turning circle just outside of the Lowry, where taxies can collect you. Some black cabs do wait outside the building, but we'd recommend booking a local taxi company if this is your preferred travel method. You can call us on 0161 876 2000 to find out runtimes for shows, so you're able to advise your taxi driver of your pick up time.
Car parking
The Media City shopping centre has a large car park attached, and is the nearest car park. You can buy pre paid car parking tickets up to 24 hours before the performance date. You can buy these when making your main booking online, or afterwards by calling 0161 876 2000. . The car park also includes several accessible parking bays.
Please note the car park does not belong to the Lowry theatre, and is open for any member of the public to use. It does get particularly busy when Manchester United have a home fixture, so please leave yourself plenty of time. There s an alternative car park on the other side of Media City, next to the BBC. This is around a 10 minute walk to our building.
We would just suggest that plenty of time is allocated to all journeys to The Lowry. For those who arrive early, why not visit our coffee shop, one of our bars, Pier Eight restaurant, or the LS Lowry gift shop.
